Actress helping to market LG phones

Kelly Brook has been chosen as the face of LG’s newest mobile phone offering, the Optimus One, reports marketing news publication Brand Republic.

The actress was labelled “the ideal ambassador” for LG and the handset, which is said to match Brook’s “glamorous image.” The phone is being marketed as a versatile and very affordable smartphone, said to be “the smart choice of anyone who has to maintain a busy lifestyle” by the company’s head of mobile marketing in Marketing Week.

Using Google’s Android 2.2 operating interface, the phone is claimed to be “accessible and affordable, with many apps to entertain and plan your life.”

Brook is said to be delighted at being chosen, and said the phone has “loads of clever features that suit my lifestyle and let me find out just about everything.”

“It allows me to stay in touch with my friends and family on the go, wherever I may be. I love being able to share my photos instantly and having recently joined Twitter, the phone is also a great tool for tweeting to my fans.” adds Brook.

Upon launching in Korea earlier this year, one million of the LG handsets sold in just 40 days, making it one of the biggest selling mobiles in Korea of all time. It is hoped it will achieve the same success here, rivalling popular handsets such as the iPhone.

The phone was launched at a star-studded party in London recently, where the LG head of mobile marketing claimed “We are confident this new handset will really make LG stand out in the smartphone space, by offering consumers the latest technology at an affordable price.”
