COI to review advertising roster

The Central Office of Information (COI) is to conduct a review of its direct and relationship marketing framework. With an annual spend of around £30m, the business will be a lucrative opportunity for any of the agencies selected for the new roster.

The announcement makes the COI the second public service media organisation to review its agency roster in 2009. Last week, the BBC made UK marketing news headlines by announcing that it would be reviewing the roster for its £20m ad account.

Marc Michaels, the director of direct and relationship marketing at COI, will be handling the review. According the organisations press release, the new framework will be completed by the end of September and in place by the start of October.

“This is a great opportunity to refresh our supplier base and ensure we are prepared for the coming years to continue to deliver excellent service through excellent supplier partnerships” said Michaels. “COI prides itself in ensuring we have the very best suppliers across the wide range of Direct and Relationship Marketing activities that we undertaken, so that we can develop effective and cost efficient activities on behalf of our government clients and the citizen.”

The COI has already issued a Request For Information (RFI) to several agencies, who have a deadline of 10th of February to register their interest in bidding for the account. Suppliers will be chosen on the basis of their experience in seven different specialisms: contact centre; data services; email; face to face; mailing house and fulfilment services; digital personalised print; and direct marketing consultancy.
