Lynx introduces mobile apps to help men
Men’s grooming product brand Lynx is set to launch three mobile phone applications to aid young men to ‘break the ice’ with women according to recent marketing news.
The campaign is using the slogan ‘Get in There’ and offers men useful tools and tips in helping to make women laugh and respond to their conversation.
The Unilever owned brand is known for its interesting advertising campaigns, including a host of bikini clad women chasing a young man after he has sprayed the deodorant on himself, with the tagline ‘The Lynx Effect’. More recently, page 3 model Keely Hazell, took part in an extended online game to publicise the launch of the new Lynx Twist.
Brand Republic and Marketing Week report that the first of the applications is known as ‘Say Cheese’ and allows men to play a joke on women by asking them to take a picture. After the woman has taken the picture, a pre-saved photograph is displayed on the screen instead.
The ‘Spin the Bottle’ app lets men take the risks out of the popular game spin the bottle by utilising the telephone keypad to automatically select the most appealing women in the group.
The ‘Perfect Man’ app is a multiple choice quiz allowing women to locate their perfect gentleman. Men can save a picture onto the phone which is exposed after the woman answers all of the questions.
