Pot Noedle marketing campaign kicks off

The latest marketing news reports that to promote the launch of its festive offering, “Pot Noedle”, British favourite Pot Noodle has launched a new campaign, reports UtalkMarketing.com.

In partnership with AKQA, the advertising firm, the festive film has been propelled onto British screens, proclaiming “The Noodle Van is here!”

As a parody of many other famous Christmas adverts, including the much-loved Coca-Cola “holidays are coming” campaign, the film depicts a van dropping off traditional Christmas dinners to British families.

“Following on from our successful Guinness ‘tipping pot’ spoof, which re-staged the famous domino effect advert first made famous by Guinness, we have once again taken inspiration from the UK advertising market place, but this time re-packaged a much loved and reassuringly familiar Christmas feeling,” says the marketing manager for Pot Noodle, Tom Denyard.

“In our own unmistakable style, we are championing Pot Noedle this Christmas, and putting the 4-minute wonder at the heart of the British family home. [This] shows that Christmas isn’t really about perfection that big brands sell to us each year, it is about getting together, having fun and eliminating festive stresses wherever possible.”

Brand Republic reports that the advert, championing the stuffing and roast turkey flavour product, ends with the driver (having dropped off his Christmas dinners) returns to find his van covered in graffiti.

The CCO for the firm claims “AKQA has always been about creating great products, and [this] is another fantastic example. It shows that amazing work can be created without big budgets.”
